Sheriff's Office Announces
New BLOG Site
(Citrus County) The Citrus County Sheriff's Office now has a new blog site, the Citrus
County Sheriff's WATCHblog, to exchange information with Citrus County citizens.
According to Wikipedia (an online encyclopedia), "a blog is a user-generated website
where entries are made in journal style and displayed in reverse chronological order. Blogs often
provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some
function as more personal online diaries. The term "blog" is a blend of the words web and log
(Web log). "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog."
Heather Yates, media relations coordinator for the Sheriff's Office, will maintain the site,
adding new blog topics each month and moderating content for the blog. The current topics are:
National Accreditation Time, the Sheriff's 10-43 show, CCSO Volunteers and Citizens' Academy
Alumni. To visit the site, simply go to http://sheriffcitrus.blogspot.com . Visitors to the site can read
the comments for each blog and/or post comments online.

When posting comments, click on the topic of interest. Comments already posted for that
blog will be displayed. At the bottom of the comments, click on Post a Comment . At that point,
you may decide to post anonymously, or leave a name (not required). Then, type your comments
in the comment box and click Publish Your Comment . Comments are not posted immediately,
but are posted several times each day.
